Responsible gaming: play with limits that you set

Games should stay a pleasant way to spend time. We give you tools to set a daily time limit, get a reminder, take a break or exclude yourself, and you can use them at any moment.

Our approach

The club is for adults. You must be 18 or older to play at gambit.poker. The chips at our tables are free play chips and they have no cash value.

Even so, time passes quickly when a game is fun. The tools below are there to help you decide how much of your day a game should take, and to keep that decision when the moment is exciting.

Tools you can use

  • Daily time limit. You set how many minutes a day you want to spend at the tables. We warn you when you have used 90% of it. A game in progress is never cut off, but once the limit is reached you cannot start a new game until the next day. You can choose that the limit counts all your play.
  • Session reminder. At an interval you choose, from 15 minutes to 2 hours, a reminder card shows how long you have been playing. It does not end your game: you can continue, open your limits or leave the table.
  • Cool-off break. You can close the tables for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. A break cannot be cancelled or shortened once it has started, and games already in progress are played out.
  • Self-exclusion. For a longer step back, you can exclude yourself from the tables for a period that starts at 24 hours. It cannot be lifted or shortened early, by you or by our support.

The counters for the daily limit reset at 00:00 UTC.

Changing a limit

A tighter setting applies at once. A looser setting, or removing a limit, takes effect only after 24 hours. This stops a decision made in the middle of a game from undoing the limit you set when you were calm.

Nobody can loosen your limits for you

Our staff can read your limits and can make them stricter, but nobody on the staff can loosen them. If you write to support and ask for a limit to be removed, the answer will be that the 24-hour wait applies.

Where to find the tools

  1. Open the appOpen our bot in Telegram and tap Play.
  2. Go to your ProfileOpen Profile and find the Legal section.
  3. Open Responsible gamingTap the Responsible gaming row. Your limits, the reminder, the break and self-exclusion are all on this screen.

You can also send the bot the command /limits. It shows your current settings in one message and has a button that opens the same screen in the app.

Practical advice

  1. Set a time limit before you start a session, not after. A limit chosen in advance is easier to keep.
  2. Take breaks. Stand up, drink some water, look away from the screen between games.
  3. Stop when the game stops being fun. If you feel tense, annoyed or in a hurry to play one more game, that is a good moment to leave the table.
  4. Do not play to change your mood. A game is a pastime, and it will not fix a bad day.

If playing starts to feel out of control, talk to someone you trust. A local mental health organization can also help, and you can write to us at @gambit_poker.

Frequently asked questions

Can I set a time limit for playing?

Yes, you can set a daily time limit in minutes in your Profile, under Responsible gaming. We warn you at 90% of the limit, and when it is reached you cannot start a new game until the next day.

Can I change my limits right away?

A tighter limit applies at once, but a looser limit or removing one takes effect after 24 hours. Nobody on our staff can loosen your limits for you.

What is the difference between a break and self-exclusion?

A break is a shorter pause of 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, and self-exclusion is a longer step back that starts at 24 hours. Neither can be cancelled or shortened once it has started.

Do play chips have cash value?

No, play chips have no cash value, and the club is for players aged 18 and older.
